Orvis Hot Springs Policies & General Information
Our policies are intended to ensure an enjoyable and relaxing experience for everyone. We treat all guests equally.
Guests have the responsibility to be aware of our policies and adhere to our rules. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone not in compliance with our rules and policies. Your credit card will be charged for any room or property damages. You are responsible for the prevention of personal injury, loss, and damage.
Cameras & Electronics
- Cameras, cell phones, and all other electronics (iPods, eBooks, laptops, etc.) are not allowed to be used anywhere in the soaking areas of the property. If these items are brought into our soaking areas you will be asked to leave without a refund.
- Lodging room guests and campers may have these items in their rooms or campsites only.
Children & Young Adults
- Children and young adults under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Please ensure that your child’s behavior or play is not disruptive to others’ enjoyment. Adults are responsible for their children’s behavior.
- Sorry, children who are 2 years old or younger are not allowed to stay in our lodging rooms.
Clothing Optional
- Our outdoor soaking areas and sauna are clothing optional.
- Clothing optional means a person can use those areas with or without clothing.
- We currently require people to wear a towel, robe, or modest covering in the hallways of the main building.
- Bathing suits are required in the indoor pool from 7:00am to 9:00pm.
Glass, Alcohol & Smoking
- Glass bottles and alcohol are not allowed on any of the grounds.
- Lodging room guests and campers may have these items in the privacy of their rooms and campsites only.
- We highly discourage alcohol or drug use prior to and while soaking.
- Loud, drunken, obnoxious, rude, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated anytime, anywhere!!
Guest Behavior
- All guests are welcome here until their behavior interferes with another’s visit.
- If a person is blatantly being rude, they will be asked to leave immediately and will not receive a refund.
- If two people complain about someone being aggressive in ways such as staring, drooling, being invasive, etc., that person will be asked to leave permanently.
- Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Kitchen
- The community kitchen is open from 7:30am until 9:00pm.
- Feel free to use our dishes and utensils.
- Please clean up and put away anything you use.
- Complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are available.
Lost & Found
- Our lost and found department is overpowering our storage space.
- Your best chance of finding that item is now! All unclaimed lost and found items are kept for only two weeks.
- Claimed lost items are kept for two weeks after notification, then we dispose of them.
- If you would like something returned, please contact us for return procedures.
- We are not responsible for lost and found items – claimed or unclaimed!
Parking
- All day-soaker’s vehicles are to park perpendicular to the building or the AmeriGas fence.
- Registered overnight guests will be assigned parking on arrival.
Pets
- Pets are not welcome at any soaking area, grass areas or guest rooms (service dogs excepted, of course).
- Pets are only allowed in the campground.
- If a pet is kept in your guest room overnight, your credit card will be charged with an additional cleaning fee of up to $100.
- Pets must be quiet and on a leash at all times while in the campground and outside on the property or roads.
- People wishing to walk their pets should use County Road 3 (south towards Ouray).
- Make sure you clean up after your pet!
Camping & Lodging Policies
CAMPING
- Camping is allowed in tents or vehicles.
- The maximum number of overnight guests in the campground is 30 people per night.
- Only guests with a paid reservation, who have signed in, may stay overnight on the property. No additional guests allowed.
- Campers can enjoy two days of soaking from 9 a.m. the day of arrival to 9:00pm the final day of your stay.
- Open fires are allowed only in our designated fire pits, unless there is a countywide ban that prohibits them.
- There are no electrical, water or sewer hookups.
- The maximum length for RVs is 30 feet.
- All camping vehicles must be parked perpendicular to the AmeriGas lot, unless otherwise instructed by a staff member.
- Non-refundable and non-transferable deposit: A $20 deposit will be charged to your credit card at the time of you reservation. This non-refundable deposit will go towards your first night’s stay when you arrive.
- Credit card and ID required at check-in: Your credit card will be pre-authorized for the full cost of the reserved stay. If at check-out you choose to pay cash for your reservation, please be advised that the pre-authorized funds may not be available for up to 10 business days.
- 48-hour cancellation policy: If you contact us by 3:00pm two days before your reservation, you will only forfeit your $20 deposit. If you cancel less than 48 hours ahead (or don’t show up), your credit card will be charged the full price for one night’s reservation. If this is a multiple-night reservation and we don’t hear from you, you will be charged for the first night, and all other reserved nights will be forfeited and made available to people on the stand-by list.
LODGING
- A valid credit card in the name of the person staying overnight is required for all lodging reservations.
- Check-in is between 3:00pm and 8:00pm
- All overnight guests are required to show a valid ID at check-in.
- Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Children must be at least 3 years old to stay in our lodging rooms.
- Only guests with a paid reservation, who have signed in, may stay overnight on the property. No additional guests allowed.
- Any lodging room guest wishing to arrive early to soak may do so as early as 9:00am. Please notify the front desk that you are a room guest for that day and they will make arrangements for you.
- As a courtesy to other guests, your check-in must be in person by 8:00pm, or if you have stayed with us before, you may call for late check-in instructions to access the property.
- No pets are allowed in any room other than our resident cats, Wayne and Garth. If a pet is kept in your guest room overnight, your credit card will be charged with an additional cleaning fee of up to $100.
- Housekeeping for each room is done daily. Please be courteous and respectful of staff cleaning duties.
- Checkout time is 11:00am. Late check-out could incur additional charges.
- Guests may stay and soak until 9:00pm the day of checkout. Once you have checked out, you must use the downstairs facilities for the remainder of your stay.
- Pending availability, registration for additional nights must be made by 11:00am.
- Due to the fire hazard, NO CANDLES are allowed in our guest rooms.
QUIET HOURS
- Quiet hours are from 9:00pm until 9:00am every day.
- During these hours, use a soft voice and please do not leave your vehicle running.
- Soaking areas, bathrooms and changing areas are open, but the kitchen is closed.
- Please, no hair dryers, loud music, generators, etc. until after 9:00am.
